The excitement of waiting dashed... but for good reasons
And so after only two days of trepidation I got the news that my images had been accepted for PhotoShelter... a bit more keywording and setting up and...
I'm a stock photographer... ! Try going to - psc.photoshelter.com - and search for capoeira
Plus a couple got editors selection, all very exciting - sure I won't actually sell a thing!
Spent the evening reading up on all their advice and tutorials... and have to say for any aspirers out there give them a shot they really seem a friendly bunch.
Fired off the Alamy ones too - but think I'm going to focus on PhotoShelter and their note that there is a serious lack of decent seniors imagery... Might as well make use of the fact that my dad is an active old steed at the age of 86!
Other work is coming along well, pulling all the content together for the Darcys website that I have designed and done the photography for.
Spent 8 hrs yesterday on getting very geeky small bits of code sorted, but makes sense to get the heart of it right - so that it can be updated easily later on...

Fingers crossed the process begins...
I have just submitted my test images to the first image library that I'd like to work with. Can't really believe it has taken this long... 5 years since I graduated, but hey, better late than never!
So PhotoShelter is my first port of call - great people, been really friendly, helpful and made me already feel part of something. On that point for anyone who is interested check out this link:
20th of July - take part, learn something and maybe win something...
OR ?
Just weighing up next whether I put more effort into Alamy or Getty. Get the sense that Getty is the more prestigious, harder to get into, but has more kudos, whereas Alamy really aims to hit the world with quantity of great quality images... will make my mind up soon. I need the dosh!
I know its sad, but been getting addicted to my flickr stats, been intrigued to see how i can control how many view my images, rate them and favourite them based on what I upload...
Any visits, much appreciated!!!

Portraits and PhotoMonth
Interesting plans ahead.
Entering the National Portrait Photographic competition, which I've got to get in for mid July. Planning 3 photos - one I've already taken in Brazil and two shoots. The first is with Eliza Doolittle who everyone should be keeping their eyes on at festivals this year. Her voice is incredible and her music even better - check out her myspace: www.myspace.com/elizadoolittlemusic
The other shot is kind of inspired by one I took with Megs a year or so ago...
Am working with a good friend Tony, who is the owner of Aview opticians. Not quite sure how I'm going to do it, but want to use mirrors and reflection to give a sense of what Tony is amazing at - styling eyes.... will keep you posted.
Then a bit further along, a good friend let me know about an event called PhotoMonth in October in East London. Basically its up to you to organise your own idea and a venue and then let them know its on... so speaking to Favela Chic about having an exhibition of my favela series that i shot out in Brazil...
Finally podcast of the week - a bit geeky, it is a lecture by a grad from MIT, but hey...
Next blog - music plans that are afoot - new music and a podcast series in the making...
Ta for now

MMM a change of plan...
January since I last wrote anything, so a change of plan. My blog is going to become more of a personal record of what i get up to. If its interesting then great. If not then tap me an email - ap@etio.co.uk and tell me how to sort it out...!
So for now some new photos - as recently this has been filling a lot of creative output time.
